Cathy Lamri

Cathy is an association activist with a passion for creating social links, reclaiming public space and defending the environment. She initiates and coordinates citizen, participatory and cultural projects, both professionally and on a voluntary basis.

Cathy has been working on the reappropriation of public space by local people and the place of the car in the city for more than 10 years now.

For 7 years Cathy has co-created and coordinated the citizen eco-festival « La Voie est Libre », held on the A186 motorway and open to pedestrians, bicycles and all ecological innovations. Utopia can become reality! La Voie est Libre obtained the Paris 2015 - COP 21 label and welcomed more than 30,000 people that same year.

The event has been presented as an example of the future of urban expressways in various specialised media such as Transports Urbains as well as a futuristic example at the exhibition« Les Routes du Futur Grand Paris », at the Pavillon de l’Arsenal in 2019 and in « Les villes changent le monde » by the l’IAU Paris-Region.La Voie est Libre is part of the coalition "la Rue Est A Nous".

"La Voie est Libre" strongly inspired the creation of « Paris sans voiture » and the meeting of Delphine Grimberg (initiator of the collective) and Cathy Lamri in 2014 allowed the collegial structuring of the association.

Cathy co-founded the association "la Regie Oxymore"-Project winner of the 1st participative budget of Montreuil in 2016 and the event « Les Routes du partage » in 2018, in partnership with « shareable ».

Her latest project, #loveplanet, set up during the first lockdown, is a totally voluntary project for environmental activists across the globe. The Street Art Rebellion collective, created for the occasion, distributes works of climate protest art to be collaged onto the walls of cities, reappropriating public space.
