Reimagining Hyde Park Corner: London workshop

On 24th September, the Car Free Megacities team in London ran a workshop to reimagine what Hyde Park Corner could look like, once we prioritise people over cars. Nine local residents were selected to discuss, explore, and workshop ideas for Hyde Park Corner in a future free from car dependency.

Check out some pictures from the day….

Hyde Park Corner is an urban motorway: it has between four and six lanes of traffic running around it, and the four-lane A4 running under it. It separates the beautiful green spaces of Hyde Park and St James Park from each other. It is a prime example of a location that could be dramatically improved in a car-free future.

An iconic location in Paris and New York were also workshopped as part of the Car Free Megacities visions work. We presented the images during our online symposium on 21st November 2022.
